Sea Wolf
White Water, White Bloom

Sea Wolf’s sophomore record, White Water, White Bloom, is a pastoral collection of expansive folk rock songs written by singer-songwriter Alex Brown Church. Unlike debut Leaves in the River, a full band were present for recording, lending the effort a fuller, more cinematic feel than its predecessor. Sea Wolf’s sound isn’t particularly unique or groundbreaking, likely due to the influence of indie rock mega-producer Mike Mogis, but its beauty lies in Church’s tender lyricism, especially on the reflective “Winter’s Heir” and the star-gazing “Orion & Dog.” (Dangerbird)
