In the HOV lane...

Despite the politics surrounding it, and my omnipresent-trepidation at participating, I couldn't resist the good fortune of being in New York City during Jay-Z's nine-show run to bless the new Barclays Arena in Brooklyn. Lucky me, I got paid to write about it for CBC Music.

It was a real time; he played all the hits, we ate sweet + salty popcorn and I bought some Brooklyn Nets gear for friends. The best part though, the part that made me see some good in the displacement the center has/will wrought: continual passes by vigilant janitorial staff, every single one of them rapping all the words.
